Tisha Schuller and LaTorria Sims welcome Matthew Tejada, deputy assistant administrator for environmental justice (EJ) at the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) Office of Environmental Justice and External Civil Rights (OEJECR), to the Energy Thinks podcast. Listeners will hear Matthew cover the bravery required for effective community engagement.
Before the launch of EPA’s OEJECR in September 2022, Matthew served as the director of EPA’s Office of EJ. Prior to his start at EPA, he was the executive director of Air Alliance Houston, a non-profit advocacy organization advancing EJ and reducing the public health impacts from air pollution. Matthew has a B.A. in English from the University of Texas at Austin. From Oxford, he has a Master of Philosophy in Russian and East European Studies and a Ph.D. in Modern History.
